2012 Papatheofanis Lecture – October 25th, 7:00 pm

The Wheaton Center for Early Christian Studies is thrilled to welcome J. Warren Smith for the 2012 Papatheofanis Lecture on Thursday, October 25th at 7 pm in Blanchard 339 entitled:

“Redefining Greatness: Ambrose and the Magnanimous Man”

J. Warren Smith is an Associate Professor of Historical Theology at Duke Divinity School and, while I know him as the author of the fantastic book Passion and Paradise: Human and Divine Emotion in the Thought of Gregory of Nyssa, Smith’s recent work has focused on Ambrose of Milan: Christian Grace and Pagan Virtue: The Theological Foundation of Ambrose’s Ethics.
